Of all the animals we share our winter with,
squirrels seem to be the most similar to us.
They hibernate when it gets really cold,
venturing out every once in a while in search of something to eat.
This lucky guy has found some peanuts someone has put out for him.
Notice how he keeps an eye on me.
Ready to spring into action
If I start looking a little too hungry.
Taking his treasure with him to eat at a safer distance,
He makes sure to hide it from me completely.
After filling its stomach it climbs up a tree to catch the last rays of the sun
Where it slowly begins
To fall
Asleep.
Just like us.
Oh what a sweet squirrel send it to me I'm away from toppppp

Wonderful pictures Rosemary...... very well done.
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Joop
Oh what a cutie. These pics are so fun!
ReplyDeleteI bet you were the someone who put out the peanuts - what a fortune I have spent on seeds and nuts this winter, but they are worth it.
ReplyDeleteI love the little tales you are making to go with your beautiful photographs.
Brilliant capture of the peanut part of a day in the life of a squirrel – and its photographer. I felt I was watching an evocative private dance: the lady and the squirrel.
ReplyDeleteVery telling and wonderful pictures,,love the squirrel its so cute, its probably grateful for all food it can get!!
ReplyDeleteWe had them in the garden in Denmark but here is more rare to see them:)All photos are so great I like the no 3 , is amazing

Oh! I just posted a squirrel pic too. They are fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteI love squirrels...he is such a fine plump guy!
ReplyDeleteToo cute! What a nice series of the squirrel's day out! It looks like it still has quite a winter reserve stored under all that fur!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever seen a squirrel basking in the sun like that. So cute.
ReplyDeleteOur weather has warmed up, and the squirrels are everywhere. I've had to be so careful while driving.
So nice pictures, Rosemary. The squirrels are cute when they behave like this, not so cute when they dig up all the tulip bulbs for dessert!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of the squirrel, very well photographed Rosemary.
ReplyDeleteThe second and third pictures are my favorite.
Greetings Irma

ReplyDeleteNow I feel sorry for them! If I had to live outside all winter, I would certainly hope someone would feed me peanuts, too! So sweet of you! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat and true parallel you made with this cute little fellow!
