The Fairy's Tutu

The fairies are dancing

How nimbly they bound

They flit over grass tops
They touch not the ground

Their skirts are bright purple

Made of flutter and frou

Fairy ballerinas
In their flower tutus

Birthday Gifts

My garden has given me
The prettiest birthday candle ever -
A geranium bud

A few months ago, my husband ordered my birthday gift online.
It was a Canon Macro Lens EF 100mm 1:2.8
It was supposed to remain in its package until today...

Yeah, right.
I've been using it, well, learning how to use it ever since I received it :)

It has opened my eyes to a whole new world of beauty
So, this year I'm celebrating:
A love of learning
Seeing things anew
And being eternally fascinated with nature

My heart lives in the garden :)

They Shall Remain Nameless

So, I have a huge fascination for clematis

But it appears they can be quite fussy about their growing conditions

I prefer to believe that a plant is difficult and fussy
rather than blame myself for being a poor gardener :)

Anyway, here's my clematis growing strategy

I plant them here and there

And when they die off, or grow in a lacklustre fashion

I plant a new one right next to it

This way, whether the old one dies or blooms
I don't really care

Its replacement is ready to take over

And sometimes, in banner years

I get every clematis I ever planted
(some tripled up in the same spot)
all blooming at once

And this is why
much as I'd like to give you
all the names of all the clematis you see in these photos

I can't!

If you don't name something
you won't get attached to it, right?

Anyway, their tags have faded long ago
Or been thrown out in a fit of temper (mine, not theirs)

Wouldn't you know it,
this is one of those banner years

Neighbours have stopped by
to admire my gorgeous clematis display

Thinking me to be some kind of clematis "expert"
they ask me all kinds of questions about my soil, fertilizer and techniques

I hold them off for a while
fending off their questions as best I can

But when I can't produce or remember
even one of my clematis' names

I am finally exposed as the fraud
that I am:)

Daisy Days

How I love my daisies

Simple and so sweet

Petals dancing round the sun

Such a joyous treat

You gather in my garden

Like a happy family

You share your wealth

With everyone

Just like it's supposed to be

Oh, how I love my daisies

My favourite summer treat

Flowers Nourish My Soul

"If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly,
our whole life would change."
~

I don't know what I'd do without flowers in my life.

Let The Trumpets Sound

The trumpets rise in my garden

Just in time

They gather in clusters
because a single trumpet won't do

The news must travel far

We hover over my daughter
waiting, seeking, hoping for
good news

and cherish each ray of light,
each golden morsel

After a month-long stay at the hospital
she will be released
to come home
within the next two weeks

Yes!

A glorious dreamy moment

There may be more bumps
in the road ahead
but for now
we are cherishing
this fresh hope

I would like to thank everyone
for your support and encouragement,
your prayers and wishes

At last
Good News

Loud
let the trumpets sound!

Geranium Fire

What's not to love
about a
Geranium?

Your buds are
are sweet
as a rose

Your flowers,
no less beautiful

You're not bothered by
disease, or pest
or weather

You greet me in the garden
the whole summer long

In so many colours

Providing
a never-ending
display of petals and buds

Some shades are pale
full of romance and whimsy

Others are electric, vibrant, and hot

Nothing is as striking
and hard to capture

As your red-as-a-rose passion

You light my screen
on fire!
