In their own wooden way

I am happy to say

That trees house mysteries

As deep as their roots.

  1. I suppose that those belong to Woodpeckers - what brilliant homes they build, the carpenters of the bird world.

  2. I hope you see little peeps peeking out of it soon! But, I wonder if the tree minds.

  3. They are brilliant, tree with a hole in it. I wonder, what lives in there?????

  4. Would be interesting if that turned out to be a woodpecker home. I knew that they excavated their own cavities, but I thought they usually did so in soft or diseased wood. That tree doesn't look soft or diseased, but then what do I know?

  6. Nice finds, Rosemary! Those cavities look like they took a lot of hard work! Hope the dwellers are enjoying their home sweet homes:)

  7. It does look like the work of a woodpecker. I'd rather hear them peck on a tree than on the house!
