Camera Knows Best

There is a touch of melancholy to this time of day,
a sense of the end,
as if the light touches everything for the last time.

I stopped to capture the moment with my camera
when a funny thing happened...

This is what I found in my viewfinder.

My fingers halted their movements to focus the shot any further.

I let the light chase away everything but this moment;
This moment filled with magic.

Like an impressionist painting, this shot captured the sensation of the light instead of the details.

I have a very smart camera :)

The next time you're out for a walk
and the sun is playing peekaboo with you,
let it get your attention.
It has a little magic to share with you.

  1. So poetic, Rosemary, and so wonderful to stop and listen to what nature is telling you. In my book trailer for Koicto, I was talking about dreaming...the video camera took it's time to focus, and though a mistake, it was perfect. I must now ask, was it really a mistake?

  6. Such gorgeous pictures and words! Let's see, it seems as if it's been a long time since the sun played peek a boo with us in the soggy northwest. Mostly it's been playing the "I'm hibernating above this thick blanket of clouds until July" game. If I see the old fellow again, I'll certainly suggest your game as it seems much nicer.

    1. Aw, I'm sorry the sun is acting like a distant friend where you live. Sunshine makes the winter go by a lot faster :)

  12. I love the way you interpret your photography. You see things differently, which I really enjoy. :o) I love the idea of a picture that shows a sensation instead of a concrete fact.
