Look Up

When we are young, we look to the sky in wonder.

So many questions and dreams,
each cloud offering a different answer.

We get older and life gets busy.
There's less time to look at the sky.
There are things to learn and things to do.
Choices are made and dreams float away, high and beyond reach.

Make time to look to the sky.
Draw inspiration from its blank canvas.
See its space, time and freedom.
Find and follow your Dreams.

Look at your feet.  You are standing in the sky.
When we think of the sky, we tend to look up,
but the sky actually begins at the earth.

  1. Rosemary!
I look up and admire your artistic and very beautiful pictures.
I love the blue of the sky in your photos ...
You were lucky enough to see the key birds.
    Have a nice weekend.

    1. Thank you Lucia, these birds are Canadian Geese, leaving here for warmer places. They pass overhead day and night, honking, letting us know winter is coming soon. Have a wonderful weekend as well :)

  2. Your photos are a good accompaniment to the narration. I like the way the curling stamens are depicted, stark naked after the petals have peeled off.

    1. It looks like the petals fell off in one motion leaving everything else intact, it caught my eye because I found it to be strange. This rose is growing over my head so to photograph it I had to point the camera toward the sky, and that's what made me think of this blog post :)

    1. Thanks Tammy, actually the flower is taller than I am and I had to look up at the sky to see it, that's what started the idea for this blog post :) Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!

    1. I hope you got the chance to take a gaze at your glorious Tucson sky today :) I wish those were cranes in my picture but they are simply a broken V of Canada Geese leaving Canada for warmer places. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too.

  8. Couldn't agree with you more Rosebud ;)
Time to look up the sky and stretch our hands above the head.
    Inhale deeply...and exhale out gently.
Enjoy the view of the blue sky..and smile like a kid again,
Release the gravitational burden we accumulated looking down all this while.
Boy! I feel good already ;)
    Have a great weekend!

    1. Okay, I am loving that you called me Rosebud! And you're right, it's not just about looking up at the sky, it's about "feeling" it too. I like that you mention "smile like a kid again," we can learn a lot from the way children greet each day, with fresh enthusiasm and curiosity. I love your next sentence about looking down all this while, pure poetry! Thanks for such a thoughtful, inspirational comment. Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!

    2. If I may add, love all your shots especially the flying geese against the blue sky!
We don't have those skies and our geese don't fly :-)
Wow! Your roses grew that high?
Thank God for that as it inspires you to write this post.
And thanks for sharing the lovely poem.

    3. Thanks Ash! What do you mean you don't have those skies, what do your skies look like? As for the geese, there are many cities in the U.S. that have so many Canada Geese, they would gladly send them all your way :) I thought the poem was brilliant, really made me think.
