This red sunflower is looking positively weepy :(
The season has come to an end.
Here are some of the very last flowers in my garden.
To steal a line from Cinderella,
"Do I love you because you're beautiful,"
Or are you beautiful because you're the last one?
This is my "beauty" corner because both the clematis and the hollyhock have put out their last blooms at the same time.
Just about to cut down the browned-out section below, when "boing" out pops a flower!
One last elegant goodbye...
wonderful clematis!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

This has been a very good summer and fall for my clematis :)
DeleteFlowers with wonderful colors....nice photographed Rosemary
ReplyDeletegreetings, Joop
Thank you Joop, the colour changes with the light throughout the day, it is one of my favourites!
DeleteHello Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers. Great colors.
I can see that it is almost ... autumn.
Yes Lucia, it is supposed to be autumn, but some plants are acting as if summer should never end!
DeleteLet me join you in a farewell, Rosemary, but not a goodbye to that clematis. Won't you love it when/if its seedpod appears for a final, lingering look?
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the flower buds a few weeks ago, I thought for sure the cold would prevent them from opening but here they are! And you're right, I'll have the seed pods all winter long :)
DeleteHi Rosemary, September was mild, but fall is definitely closing in. We have had a few light frosts here already and a hard frost is probably just days away. The last flowers of the season are always precious!
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer, thanks for stopping by :) We haven't had a frost yet and parts of the garden are still putting up new buds... Tsk, tsk, they should know better than that!
DeleteBeautiful flowers with beautiful colors well photographed, Rosemary!!
ReplyDeleteGreetings Irma
Your weather must be wonderful right now. We've had brief tastes of cool weather....but I'm longing for more!
