A Moment in Time

If you had the chance to freeze time,

To stand still

And soak everything in,

Which moment would you choose?

Nature's chosen this moment.
Water from the birdbath, halted mid-flow.

Air, colour, motion; frozen in time,

Bubbling with life.

Stopped in time, it's amazing to behold.
Or is it amazing now that I've stopped to look?

Make each moment sparkle.

  2. Very nice post:) I often think about freezing time. Would I? I think at some points I would. It's why I take photos because it captures time:)

  12. Beautiful photos, especially all the little trapped bubbles! One of the things I like about taking pictures is that its like a way to freeze moments in time and then be able see them over and over again. Take care:)

    1. Thank you so much! I use a Canon EOS Rebel with a Sigma 120-400 Zoom lens for most shots. This summer I bought an inexpensive macro lens that snaps onto my camera. In this blog post I used the macro lens to take all the close-ups of the frozen water. Karen, at Pieces of Contentment, has a blog full of beauty and inspiration; she was kind enough to describe the macro lens, showing us the fantastic pictures she took with it. Here is the post if you'd like to check it out:

  15. Ice makes for interesting patterns and photos. I don't know when or if I'd freeze any moment or period of time. I'll leave it to Mother Nature to decide.

    Pretty pics!

  17. Rosemary, your art continues to amaze and delight. Not the least is your poetic description, illuminating what your camera captures. Indeed, moments are there for the freezing, but it takes a love of being *in* the moment, an openness to nature's gifts, to record and share them the way you do.

  18. Amazing photography. You've captured the beautiful details of ice, including the luminous blue streaks and its clarity - reminds me of the inclusions in diamonds, though these are large ones.

    1. Thank you :) Diamonds are exactly what I thought of once the sun hit the ice particles in the last shot!
