Time to Shine

In the Spring when the garden is bare,
here are some of the objects I put out to fill the void.

They keep things interesting looking
while supporting the plants as they grow.

Soon enough they are smothered in greenery

and I forget they are even there.

Once the flowers have gone and the leaves have fallen

they are all that remain in the quiet bareness.

Today I am happy to rediscover their beauty.

This is their moment to shine.

This happens in our lives as well.

Our days get full to the brim with the demands of the job,
and the needs and wants of others.

Working behind the scenes,
we become so efficient in supporting others
that our efforts become invisible.

Make sure to come forward,

Step into the light, be "seen" and appreciated.

It is your turn to shine.

  1. This is a beautiful reminder Rosemary.
    Something I keep forgetting :(
Wow! You actually bring the characters of
Iris and the Dragonflies in your garden!
Must be pretty exciting to be 'surrounded'
    In their presence daily :)

    1. Thank you Ash, I am surrounded by dragonflies, real ones, fake ones, and fictional ones! Our gardens suffer through long periods of nothingness where things look grey and barren. It really helps liven things up to bring out sculptures and artwork.

    1. Hi Silvina, sometimes when I go to people's blogs google translates them automatically, but not always. In your settings you can find a translate widget and just insert it into your blog but don't worry about it if you can't. I enjoy your beautiful photos just the same and they often tell the story so well that words are not needed :)

  5. Dear Rosemary - structure and objects scattered around the garden are so important, especially when everything dies back as you mention. I have lots of rusty old iron hanging around my garden too.

    1. And I am always on the lookout for new things as well, although finding ones that can withstand the ice and snow is a challenge!

    1. What a great name "garden jewellery!" That would be the perfect name for a store that sells this kind of merchandise.

  17. Love metal and glass mixed into the garden. One of my favorite features that I've added here. So when the garden is resting, these pieces along with the bare structured trees look perfect:)
