Guess Who

Take a guess, if you dare
About the owner of this hair.

Might it be a porcupine?
Hardly so, with hair so fine.

Perhaps an exotic unknown dog,
that's crawled out of a faraway bog?

If that's true I stake my claim
on giving this breed a glamorous name.

Imagine if it's a caterpillar?
(I doubt there are any with purple fur.)

Perhaps it's a cat who's been fancy-dyed?
(No cat would let you escape alive.)

Thanks for playing along with zeal.
Now it's time for the big reveal.

This furry plant in my garden's got class.
It's a Red Head beautiful Fountain Grass!

    1. It is very hardy grass as it survives our winter with no cover, so, beautiful and strong!

    1. Thank you, it's soft enough to be a duster, but would probably leave little purple hairs all over the furniture :)

    1. I'm sure Nature has her own reasons for this creation, which I will never be able to guess!

    2. It is a lovely and beautiful creation, no doubt.
      The color is so gorgeous!
What we have here is similar but white in color.
And it sticks to the skirt or jeans as we walk by it :(

    1. This is the only grass I have, so far, I'd love to have many more but they need a lot of room. Thank you for liking my little poem :)

  10. Isn't this grass a treat? It's one of the last performers of the cold temps. Again, you've taken a common plant and made it shine. Beautiful!
