Sun Smile

Sunshine on a cold November day

is like icing on a cake.

It lights up the faded petals of this hydrangea,

coaxing out the pinks, yellows and greens,

until the whole bush is singing with joy!

Sunshine in November is just what I need :)

    1. Too true, but at least with the snow we get the sun from above and then reflected back to us in a blinding whiteness :)

  7. Just found your blog a few days ago and love your close-up photographic celebrations of the small wonders of the garden. These are the things in which gardeners find joy while many non-gardeners just see the garden as a whole and miss these small pleasures.

I plan to include them in my garden,
If I can find one that has adapted to our climate.

  13. The hydrangea looks so delicate and papery - a joy at this time of year. Do you collect some of the heads to bring indoors to dry?

    1. I really appreciate them at this time of year Rosemary, because they are one of the last flowers left in my garden. Unfortunately I can't bring them indoors because my cats would redecorate my house with them :(
