Of Kings and Queens

Royalty has arrived in my August garden.

The Rudbeckia have donned crowns of gold;
the tips glowing as if lit by tiny yellow lights.

Robin Hood arrives to scoop up the gold, stuffing his back-pockets full.  He'll take the nectar he's collecting back to the hive where it will be turned into liquid gold, honey.

  3. "God save the Queen!" I always smile at that expression. Plus I love that bee shot.

    1. Now that I hear you say it, what about the King, who's supposed to save him? The bees run around the crown two or three times then find another rudbeckia and do the same thing. I'm surprised they don't get dizzy!
