You Had Me At Hello

Summer...
You had me at hello

You swept me up in your intensity

And the crazy-hatted party goers
you brought to my garden

You arrived dressed in eye-popping colours

Against a backdrop of glorious greens

With the summer comes the sun
And with the sun comes the heat

June, July and August whizzed by
in a colourful, shimmering mirage

Trumpets blared sweet summer's song
filling my senses with their heady perfume

While the fish grew fat and happy
in the pond

So many moments to enjoy

So much beauty to drink in

Some scenes almost too beautiful to believe

That this is reality and not just a dream

In my garden, summer has been gentle,

Fluttery

Feminine

Fringed

Filled with colourful hues,

Stately colour shapes

And bold colour wows!

Autumn is on its way
and when I look back

This will have been a Summer
I will never forget!

The Return of the Pollen Prince

It is now September and even though the day is sunny and warm, temperatures can drop suddenly and without warning at this time of year.

I was privileged to see the Pollen Prince off on yet another dangerous mission collecting valuable gold for his Queen.

Notice, on his head, the glowing yellow Crown of Allegiance demonstrating to all, his hard work and determination.

I dared not disturb him, for should it suddenly turn cold his wings would not be able to carry him home and he would remain stranded, far from safety, left to die a slow and agonizing death.

Safe journey home Brave Prince!

The Sentinel

Here stands one of my loyal guards hard at work scanning the horizon for our enemies. He stretches his neck high over the garden, ready to sound the alarm should he spot that most wily, stealthy and destructive adversary of all time, the squirrel!

Inspiration

Turn your face to the sun and the shadows will fall behind you.

Take a moment to admire a sunflower.

From far away or so close your nose is almost touching it, you can't help but be filled with a sense of wonder at the colour, the intricate seed pattern, the strength of the stalk, the size of the flower and the multitude of insects that race across its face!

The sun stands before you.

Inspiration!
