The Dandy Lion

Deafening is the lion's roar
In strength and pride he stands
Terror is the way he rules
As King throughout the land

Hidden in the grassy plains
Waiting for his chance
He's storing up on energy
Planning his advance

All at once he blazes forth
And shows his yellow mane
Once he makes his presence known
They won't let him remain

The battle lines are clearly drawn
In this endless summer war
Though they spray and shriek and hack away
They can't tame the lion's roar

  7. It also amazes how you can take a simple flower, that most would probably overlook, and make such intriguing, artful images; love them! Great poem as well:)

  10. No, we will never tame the dandy lion's roar. He's a beast in summer's garden, but kind of a handsome one, really.
