Cat TV

It's cold and windy today.
My cats are taking full advantage of the sun shining in through the window.

Zorro (on the left) is a tuxedo cat,
Sushi (on the right) is a Siamese.

They have been indoor cats all their lives.
I'm happy being able to keep them healthy and safe
while protecting the many birds that visit our backyard feeders at the same time.

I stepped outside to take this shot from the other side of our very dirty window.
Clearly I have not started my spring cleaning yet...

This is how they spend their day:
Watching Cat TV (that is: looking out the windows),
meowing, eating, sleeping.

We interrupt the above with:
Playing, brushing, petting, cuddling and (sometimes) shouting at them.

  1. All in all.... a cat's life! LOL!
They are wonderful companions as long as you can stand the hair!
Ours went in and out despite our parrot breeding aviaries but were not allowed inside the bedroom!
Have fun with them they seem so loving!
    Cheers Rosemary!

    1. Beautiful cats Rosemary - you are wise to keep them safely indoors - so many end up being hit by cars on the roads which is heartbreaking. If I was a cat I would happily sit on your window ledge in the sun until you called me for my lunch.

  13. That Siamese is fierce!

Ours are 18 years old (two sisters) and have gotten quite bony and old looking. Sushi is impressive --- and surely knows it.

  18. Hello Rosemary
What glorious pictures of your cute cats. My cat Middi destruction was almost 2 years ago, she could not, was almost 17 years. I ♥ dogs and cats. Wish you a nice day :) Hanne Bente

  21. Cat's TV -is safe for birds! I love your cat with blue eyes, he is bigger than another and I think he has a little stubborn nature (hasn't he?)

  23. Aww, your dear cats are so adorable! I am partial to tuxedo cats as I also have one. My sweet, old girl has a similar schedule!

  24. Our cat also used the window as their TV. At the time we lived in a third floor apartment that looked out into the top of a big maple tree so they could watch their shows close up. Their favorite shows were Survivor: Bird's Nest edition and As the Squirrel Turns.

  25. Every garden needs a cat audience and a dog or 4 to romp outside to entertain their feline friends.

  26. As the saying goes - if you want to know where the best seat in the house is, move the cat(s). Looks like your two are enjoying the show.

[btw - photography beats window cleaning, doesn't it ?]

  28. Your cats are lovely Rosemary :-) My cat also spends hours looking out of the window, even though he is free to come and go as he wants to as I have a cat flap in the back door to the garden. Still, favourite seat is on a window sill upstairs.
Have a great week-end, take care.
