Saved

A handful of dried bulbs as a gift
Sprout long green fingers
That stretch to the light
Then stretch some more
I think I smelled their perfume
before I realized they'd blossomed
A glorious peppery scent in the room

You've heard of the knight
Riding in on his white horse
To save the princess?

It's the Paperwhites
That have come to save me
Instead

  1. If we can't have real spring, then the scent of spring and a few flowers in a vase are the next best thing. :o)
