My clematis are such interesting characters.
Some of them grab their neighbour's hand
and grow together
Some are shy
and hide each chance they get
Some reach out
and wave their leaves at me
like they're trying to hail a passing cab
Then there are those daredevils
who bungee jump
out into the world
with no safety net
sure that everything will work out
and where they land
is where they're meant to be
While others triple wrap themselves
And hang on for dear life
So whether you're a happy-go-lucky,
seize-the-day
leaf waver
Or feel safer holding the hand of a friend
Just remember to keep on growing :)
wow..... very beautiful... i miss really clematis in my Garden...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part is when they take over structures and buildings. The tendrils always had me excited about what the plant would become:)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful, Rosemary. I love the triple wrap thing. :)

Yes they are very free spirited , a plant I really love, I have about 10 of them in my little city garden...flowering in different periods. Great post!
ReplyDeleteLove the variety of personalities these vines hold! The vine holding on for dear life made me smile! I like your dragonfly decor also:)
ReplyDeleteWonder what is your job.
ReplyDeleteThe best in condition! hug
I have some Jackman clematis and you have described its behaviors very well. Overall I would say the Jackman vines tend to be on the extroverted side of things.
ReplyDeleteThey all are the same yet so different in their characters. Beautiful perspective and perfectly complementing words to the pictures: Loved reading this Rosemary, this was fun :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures - exciting with clematis - even some :)
ReplyDeleteUna serie molto bella e delicata...complimenti!

Mines look like yours on the last photo: hand by hand. When I show them the net to hold, the next day they do the same:hand by hand. Characters!
ReplyDeleteHappy gardening, Rosemary!
I agree! Grow, grow, grow!
ReplyDeleteSprytne są Twoje powojniki. Moje nie były takie i wiatr wiele gałazek połamał. Twoje opowiadanie o nich było urocze. Pozdrawiam.
ReplyDeleteSmart is Your clematis. Mine did not have a lot of wind and broke twigs. Your story about them was charming. Yours.
I love how you find personality and character in your plants!
ReplyDeleteOne of my clematis has just finished blooming and the other two have ripening buds. I can't wait to see photos of yours when they bloom.
You have lovely characters in you Clematis-family!
ReplyDeleteIn photos 1 and 4 you leave the topic beautifully come forward with beautiful soft background. your other pictures are lovely to look at but the two mentioned stand out :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photography, we love Clematis and are planting more in our garden. We recently bought one called Clematis Rouguchi aJapanese hybrid.
