Happy New Year

Write it on your heart
that every day
is the best day
of the year.

Use Your Imagination

The colour of springtime is in the flowers;
The colour of winter is in the imagination.

Narnia

Everything presses in on you all at once
The blinding whiteness
The silence
The cold
But mostly...
The overwhelming awe of all that snow

What a remarkable quirk of nature

Perennial Beauty

The tall grasses I see on my daily walk
must be the most photographed
plants on my blog.

I can't seem to get enough of their beauty.

Let The Fun Begin!

We're still waiting for the snow,
but I have no doubt
it will arrive
shortly.

How High Will You Fly?

Nature provides the perfect inspiration
for understanding, accepting and dealing with
life's gifts
and challenges.

Often, when I take a photo
the inspiration
or, what it means to me
just jumps right out.

Oh, The Drama!

Never a dull moment!

I took this shot
right before the sun was swallowed up
by some very dark clouds.

I call it:
Cloudy With A Chance Of Snow

Fairy Tale Time

Mushrooms conjure up fairy tales for me.
So much magic in these
umbrella-topped imps.

Beauty Defies Colour

Here's an Echinacea seed head.
Its unique shape, its points and depths
Capture the light and emphasize the shadows
Creating a canvas on which
Every colour enhances
Its Beauty differently

Paved With Gold

The road around my wrist
is paved with
Gold.

Glad I could be part

Glorious Mornings

How does a flower
celebrate
Jack Frost's
tardiness?

It becomes impossibly beautiful.

Raindance Anyone?

Drops of rain
fill up my mossy pond
creating mermaid-patterned,
blue-green swirls

Glisten and Sway

Nothing beats the beauty and serenity
of tall grasses gone to seed
at this time of year

They sway in the breeze
and glisten in the light
like moving paintings

Here, There and Everywhere

As I close my garden bit by bit
cutting down perennials,
I have to be on the lookout
at all times
for adorable wooly bears.

They lounge on the leaves
of my plants
or hide in cracks
to keep warm and safe
for the winter.

They always bring a smile
to my face
when I scoop them up,
all curled in a tight furry ball,
to move them to a safer location.

Resonance

Let us be silent,
that we may hear
the whisper of the bell.

I don't know what it is about this rusty old bell...
I've had it for years and taken many pictures of it.
No matter when, regardless of the light or the weather,
it always comes out beautifully.
The definition of photogenic :)

Spiders With Wings?

The spiders are keeping busy
in my fall garden.

What do you think this one's planning to do
with this feathery seed?

October Light

Caught this elegant spider spinner her web
in the afternoon light
in my garden

Made me think of...
