It sparks a fire in your eyes

that travels to your heart

and all of a sudden you want to dance.

Common Knapweed...

The name hardly does it justice.

Centaurea, it's proper name,

suits it much better.

It sounds like a secret

and hints at a history of magic and mystery.

This weed casts a spell on me

every spring.

Its long ghostly fingers

and shimmering colours

catch my eye

and draw me in

closer

and closer.

Purple Rain

We're quick to curse the rain.

We blame it for ruining

a day, any day,

our day.

But if you're lucky enough

to like flowers and photography

You will thank the rain

for the way it scatters its liquid diamonds

and multiplies the beauty

of everything.

Fellowship Of The Ferns

In the quiet of the forest

when no one is watching,

delicate ferns unfurl lacy,

fragile fronds.

With ghostly, green fingers,

they reach out

to connect,

one atop the other.

Alone,

they are a single branch.

Together,

they form a magical,

green labyrinth.

A fellowship of ferns.
